Application deadline:  February 5, 2024

We need Undergraduate Psychology majors to serve as peer-reviewers on the Sentience Editorial Board. This is an opportunity to obtain valuable experience that will set you apart as a graduate school applicant or prospective job candidate.

As a member of the Sentience Editorial Board, you will act as a peer-reviewer of manuscripts that are submitted for publication by fellow undergraduate students. You will provide feedback to the authors and contribute to decisions as to the acceptability of manuscripts for publication.

Students can earn credit for serving on the Editorial Board by registering for PSY 5993, Section 043 (3 credits): Peer Review and Journal Publication.  In this course, Editorial Board members will apply concepts from the Research Methods class in reviewing and critiquing manuscripts submitted to the journal for publication in terms of both content and writing quality.  Editorial Board members also will review research proposals of students in the concurrent Research Methods course.  This section will meet in person several times during the semester on a schedule to be determined.  Permission to register for this section will be granted on the basis of satisfactory evaluation of application materials.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must have completed Research Methods (PSY 3001W or PSY 3001V) with a grade of at least A-.
  • Application deadline is February 5, 2024.  Complete an application (see link below) and email it to [email protected].
Applicants will be notified as to whether or not they have been selected to serve on the Editorial Board shortly after the application deadline.
